Choose your gender? The UK government proposes changing the law to enable people to “self-identify” their gender, according to an article in Christian Concern 25 July 2017.
The article states: “A consultation on the Gender Recognition bill, which will be published this autumn, will also suggest ‘demedicalising’ gender identity, by removing the requirement for an individual to be diagnosed with ‘gender dysphoria’, before applying to ‘change’ their gender. Both the Prime Minister Theresa May and Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn have spoken in support of the plans.”
Editorial Comment: The best consultation the UK politicians could do is to learn some real biology. Gender is not a personal choice or a cultural construct. It is biology at its most basic level.
