Water on Mars … again, according to Nature News and Science (AAAS) News 25 July2018, multiple media sources, and Science 25 July 2018 doi: 10.1126/science.aar7268.
Scientists analysing data from a space probe that sends ground penetrating radar to the surface of Mars have found “bright subsurface reflections” near the south pole of Mars. The researchers wrote: “Quantitative analysis of the radar signals shows that this bright feature has high relative dielectric permittivity (>15), matching that of water-bearing materials. We interpret this feature as a stable body of liquid water on Mars.”
Editorial Comment: Note, they didn’t actually find any water – just radar signals that could be from “water bearing materials”. This is the latest in a long line of claims to find water of Mars.
As usual it is accompanied by speculations about finding life on Mars. As we have said many times, finding water does not mean finding life. Water may sustain life, but it cannot create life. Furthermore, God has told us what Mars, the moon and other space objects were created for – and life is not in His list. It continues to be absurd for scientists and governments to be spending enormous amounts of money to prop up a theory that pushes God out of His own universe.
