Women are evolving claims BBC Radio 4 Material World program 29 October 2009, reporting on the Framingham Heart Study, which has tracked the medical histories of some 14,000 residents of Framingham, Massachusetts USA, since 1948 and was published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) 21 October 2009.
The researchers observed that women who had more children; started earlier, had more body fat, were shorter and finished later. The team predicted that by 2409 the average Framingham woman would be 2 cm (0.8 in) shorter, 1 kg (2.2 lb.) heavier, have a healthier heart, have her first child five months earlier and enter menopause 10 months later than a woman today. Their conclusion was that this “rate of evolution is slow but pretty similar to what we see in other plants and animals.”
Editorial Comment: We suspect that what they have actually proven is that women are turning into women and getting shorter. Their comment about this providing evidence of a slow rate of evolution, is a wonderful example of how Darwin’s Glasses stops you seeing the real world. Darwin’s Glasses is a term we have coined to describe the thought processes that define evolution as change, then call all change evolution, then accept any change as proof of evolution, then turn around and claim such change disproves creation. The researchers conducting the Framingham Heart Study have not observed any evolution at all and the comment about the rate of evolution being about the same as that observed for “other plants and animals” tells you we have not seen anything evolve. Evolution is a con job – take off Darwin’s Glasses if you want to see what’s going on in the real world you live in. (ref. Female, Kind, Man)
