Gay rights activist honoured, as reported in SBS World News 13 June 2011. The Australian Government led by atheist Julia Gillard has awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in the Queen’s Birthday Honours to gay rights activist Brian Greig. SBS stated “He has been recognised for his service to the community as a social justice advocate for the gay and lesbian community. Mr Greig says he is able to look back over the last two decades at the developments that have come about because of his work.”

For our non-Australian readers, the Queen’s Birthday Honours are awards described by the Australian Government as “providing national and formal recognition for many Australians across the nation who have made a significant difference to their communities.”

Editorial Comment: What a change! What a devolutionary change in Australian public values! Prior to World War 2, in order to settle in this country, my father left the UK speaking the King’s English. Now we Aussies are speaking the English of queens. (Ref. homosexuality, politics, philosophy)
