Fast granite, according to a group of geologists who reviewed current research into how long it takes the igneous rock granite to form. (Nature, Vol. 408, p669, 7 Dec 2000) They report that “dynamic models that operate on time scales of months to centuries are replacing the once prevailing view of granite magma production as a slow equilibrium process that requires millions of years.”

Editorial Comment: Slow formation of granite has been used as evidence pointing to an old age for the earth. However, rock-forming processes do not require long time periods -just the right physical and chemical environment. Perhaps it might be time to give recogintion to creationist Dr Robert Gentry and his radio halo experiments, which long ago showed the same thing. (Ref. granite, age, gentry)
