Worldwide undersea volcanos killed dinosaurs, according to articles in ScienceDaily and Telegraph 7 February 2018, and Science Advances doi: 10.1126/sciadv.aao2994, 7 February 2018.
The demise of dinosaurs is currently blamed on Chicxulub meteorite impact and massive volcanic activity in a region of central India known as the Deccan Traps. Joseph Byrnes and Leif Karlstrom, geologists from University of Oregon, have now carried out a world-wide study of gravitational anomalies associated with mid-ocean ridges, and concluded that “a massive but short-lived pulse of marine magmatism should be considered alongside the Chicxulub impact and Deccan Traps” because they found evidence of a world-wide surge in undersea volcanic activity dated around 66 million years – the time associated with the extinction of dinosaurs in the evolutionary timeframe.
Joseph Byrnes explained: “We found evidence for a previously unknown period of globally heighted volcanic activity during the mass-extinction event.”
Leif Karlstrom commented: “Our work suggests a connection between these exceedingly rare and catastrophic events, distributed over the entire planet,” Karlstrom also said. “The meteorite’s impact may have influenced volcanic eruptions that were already going on, making for a one-two punch.”

Editorial Comment: Amazing! Scientists admitting there is evidence for a world-wide rapid catastrophic event emerging from under the sea. Fountains of lava, gas and steam burst forth eh? We can’t help being reminded of the beginning of Noah’s flood, which tells us: “In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the windows of the heavens were opened.”
It would also certainly help why there are massive beds containing huge drowned dinosaurs all over the world. Slow and gradual erosion and deposition cannot bury anything the size of a Titanosaur or T. rex. Neither can a series of small floods.
