How old did you say the universe is?
15 July 2020: “Now new research published in a series of papers by an international team of astrophysicists, including Neelima Sehgal, PhD, from Stony Brook University, suggest the universe is about 13.8 billion years old.” ScienceDaily 15 July 2020
27 July 2020: “Using known distances of 50 galaxies from Earth to refine calculations in Hubble’s constant, a research team led by a University of Oregon astronomer estimates the age of the universe at 12.6 billion years.” ScienceDaily 27 July 2020
Editorial Comment: That’s 1.2 billion years younger when the authors have gotten 12 days older. Amazing! At this rate they should get close to the right answer in some 18 weeks from today! (5 August 2020).
And, for those of you who think you have to believe in an Old Universe because of the evidence – wake up! You’ve been lied to!
