Ice Age coming, warns Aussie astronaut according to NEWS.com.au April 23, 2008.

First Australian Astronaut and Geophysicist Phil Chapman claims: “If the temperature does not soon recover, we will have to conclude that global warming is over.” Chapman claims the world cooled quickly between January 07 and January 08, by about 0.7C. He said pictures from the US Solar and Heliospheric Observatory showed no spots on the sun and this failure for sunspot activity to not resume after hitting an 11-year low in March 07, is raising fears that – far from warming – the globe is about to return to an Ice Age. Chapman comments: “This is the fastest temperature change in the instrumental record and it puts us back where we were in 1930. If the temperature does not soon recover, we will have to conclude that global warming is over. It is time to put aside the global warming dogma, at least to begin contingency planning about what to do if we are moving into another little ice age, similar to the one that lasted from 1100 to 1850.” In recent weeks, articles by NASA’s Roy Spencer and Bjorn Lomborg and an interview with the Institute of Public Affairs’

Jennifer Marohasy have undermined that confident Anglosphere consensus. Amazon.com’s bestseller list has the three top books on climate by global warming /climate change sceptics: Spencer, Lomborg and Fred Singer. The Archbishop of Sydney George Pell, also has persisted in his long-held critique despite the climate change alarmism of his brother bishops.

Editorial Comment: It’s raining again Down Under, where for the last seven years we haven’t had much rain at all. During February this editor’s Aussie back yard was covered by 1m (3ft 3in) of water. The Pundits say we are suffering climate change, global warming, and the world’s weather is going to the pack due to human industry, especially man made Carbon dioxide pollution. But as I look in the mirror and see my ever greying hair, I’m old enough to remember when my back yard was last covered just as deeply by flood runoff some 20 years ago, and again some 20 years before that, when I was caught for several weeks in our Aussie outback due to flooded roads. What’s even more interesting is that this batch of Australian rain was actually forecast by our rather famous and very long range weather forecaster Inigo Jones, who died in 1954. No, Jones did not invoke global warming changes or climate change models – he was quite open about the fact that he used sunspots and the influence of Jupiter, Neptune and Saturn on the Sun and earth. He gained a great reputation, particularly from farmer’s in the southeast of my home state Queensland, for the more reliable accuracy he had over long term forecasting, than other forecasters.

Current climate change alarmists love to blame cars, cows and industry, all of which can be conveniently taxed, but they blatantly ignore those things which are beyond their realm to fine or fund, and which many experts are convinced are having a much greater effect on today’s weather. One Russian scientist has even gone so far as to state that Earth could soon face a new Ice Age. In the rather un-widely read Russian News and Information Service 22 Jan 2008, they wrote: “Temperatures on Earth have stabilized in the past decade, and the planet should brace itself for a new Ice Age rather than global warming, a Russian scientist said in an interview with RIA Novosti. The Head of space research lab, Pulkovo Observatory, in St. Petersburg, Dr Khabibullo Abdusamatov, stated, “Russian and foreign research data confirm that global temperatures in 2007 were practically similar to those in 2006, and, in general, identical to 1998 – 2006 temperatures, which, basically, means that the Earth passed the peak of global warming in 1998-2005.”

Brrr – what a disaster for us poor sun loving Aussies. But it’s also a reminder that is consistent with the first great Climate Change pattern which was not induced by cars, cows or industry, but by man’s moral climate change. At the end of Noah’s flood, God warned us the climate would change from good to bad to worse – the statement is recorded in Genesis 8:22 where the Lord said: “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” And that’s been a fairly accurate weather forecast from Noah’s day till now – up down up down, sometimes better, sometimes worse – not till Al Gore fixes it – but till Jesus comes.
